Treat your ingredients with care...
- Pita bread — To ensure the pita bread becomes crispy, make sure to cut it into small triangles and spread them evenly on the baking sheet. This will allow them to toast evenly in the oven.
Tips & Tricks
- If you prefer a milder spice level, you can reduce the amount of scotch bonnet pepper or remove the seeds before slicing.
- Feel free to add other Caribbean-inspired toppings, such as diced mango or avocado, to enhance the flavors even further.
- For an extra crunch, you can sprinkle some toasted coconut flakes on top of the dish.
- If you don't have access to Caribbean spice blend, you can create your own by combining spices like allspice, thyme, garlic powder, and paprika.
- This dish is best served immediately after preparation to maintain the crispiness of the pita bread.
