Preparation
-
1.In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, spinach, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, basil, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
-
2.Take a gyoza wrapper and place a spoonful of the filling mixture in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half, creating a half-moon shape. Pinch the edges together to seal the gyoza.
-
3.Repeat the process with the remaining wrappers and filling mixture.
-
4.Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Place the gyoza in the skillet, flat side down, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.
-
5.Pour 1/4 cup of water into the skillet and cover with a lid. Allow the gyoza to steam for 5-6 minutes until the wrappers are translucent and the filling is cooked through.
-
6.Remove the lid and continue cooking for another 1-2 minutes to crisp up the bottoms.
-
7.Serve the Italian-style Gyoza hot with the zesty tomato-based sauce on the side.
