Treat your ingredients with care...
- Cracked wheat — Make sure to rinse the cracked wheat thoroughly before cooking to remove any impurities.
- Wisconsin heavy cream — Use high-quality Wisconsin heavy cream for the best creamy texture and flavor.
- Wisconsin unsalted butter — Opt for unsalted butter to have better control over the dish's saltiness.
Tips & Tricks
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
- Experiment with different herbs for garnish, such as dill or mint, to add a unique flavor profile.
- If you prefer a smoother consistency, use an immersion blender to partially blend the porridge before adding the shredded chicken.
Serving advice
Serve the Wisconsin-style Creamy Harees as a main course, accompanied by warm bread or dinner rolls. It can also be enjoyed as a comforting one-pot meal on its own.
