- Instant yeast — Make sure the yeast is fresh and active. If you're unsure, proof the yeast by dissolving it in warm water with a pinch of sugar and waiting for it to become frothy before adding it to the dough.
Tips & Tricks
- For a spicier version, increase the amount of red chili powder according to your preference.
- Serve the Malvani Spiced Lepinja Bread with Malvani fish curry or chicken curry for a complete Malvani meal.
- If you don't have instant yeast, you can use active dry yeast instead. Activate it by dissolving it in warm water with a pinch of sugar and letting it sit for 5 minutes before adding it to the dough.
- To achieve a crispier crust, brush the bread with a mixture of water and oil before baking.
- Leftover bread can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days or frozen for later use.
