Ingredients
In this adaptation, we have incorporated Chinese Islamic flavors into the traditional Luxembourgian grilled sausage. The original recipe uses pork, which is not suitable for Chinese Islamic cuisine. Instead, we have replaced it with a mixture of ground beef and lamb, which adds a rich and savory taste to the sausages. Additionally, we have infused the sausages with a blend of Chinese spices, such as star anise, cinnamon, and Sichuan peppercorns, to give them a distinct and aromatic flavor profile. We alse have the original recipe for Lëtzebuerger Grillwurscht, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground beef and lamb — Make sure to use lean ground meat for a healthier option. If desired, you can adjust the ratio of beef to lamb according to your preference.
- Sichuan peppercorns — Toast the peppercorns in a dry pan over medium heat for a few minutes before grinding them to enhance their flavor.
- Soy sauce — Opt for low-sodium soy sauce if you prefer to reduce the sodium content of the dish.
- Rice vinegar — If you don't have rice vinegar, you can substitute it with apple cider vinegar or white wine vinegar.
- Fresh cilantro — Feel free to substitute fresh cilantro with parsley if you're not a fan of its taste.
Tips & Tricks
- For a spicier kick, add a pinch of chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the sausage mixture.
- Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before grilling to prevent them from burning.
- Serve the sausages with a side of steamed rice and stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a smokier flavor, grill the sausages over charcoal instead of a gas grill.
- Leftover sausages can be refrigerated and enjoyed the next day. Simply reheat them in a skillet or microwave before serving.
