Preparation

1.Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.

2.In a large saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, saffron threads, cinnamon, cardamom, and nutmeg.

3.Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil.

4.Reduce the heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 30-40 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the mixture has thickened to a creamy consistency.

5.Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the Meghli cool for a few minutes.

6.Divide the Meghli into serving bowls or cups.

7.Sprinkle the chopped almonds and pistachios over the top of each serving.

8.Allow the Meghli to cool completely before serving. It can also be refrigerated for a few hours to chill.
