While the original Italian Pasta Carbonara is traditionally made with pancetta or bacon, eggs, cheese, and black pepper, our Caribbean version incorporates island-inspired flavors. We substitute the pancetta with jerk-spiced chicken or shrimp, and add a touch of coconut milk for a creamy and tropical twist. The result is a fusion of Italian and Caribbean cuisines that will tantalize your taste buds. We alse have the original recipe for Pasta carbonara, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Jerk-spiced chicken or shrimp — For an extra burst of flavor, marinate the chicken or shrimp in jerk seasoning for at least 30 minutes before cooking.
- Coconut milk — Shake the can of coconut milk well before using to ensure the cream and liquid are well combined.
- Parmesan cheese — Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and texture.
- Olive oil — Extra virgin olive oil adds a fruity note to the dish, but regular olive oil works well too.
- Spaghetti — Cook the spaghetti until al dente to ensure it retains a slight bite.
