Treat your ingredients with care...
- Cassava flour — Ensure that the cassava flour is fresh and of good quality to achieve the desired texture of the dumplings.
- Congolese spice blend — If you don't have access to a ready-made Congolese spice blend, you can create your own by combining spices like pili pili, curry powder, paprika, and garlic powder.
Tips & Tricks
- To prevent the dumplings from sticking together, lightly dust them with cassava flour before cooking.
- Experiment with different fillings such as spinach and cheese for a variation in flavors.
- Serve the dumplings with a side of fresh salad or sautéed vegetables to add freshness to the meal.
- If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Congolese spice blend used in the filling.
- Leftover dumplings can be refrigerated and reheated by lightly pan-frying them for a crispy texture.
