Ingredients
While the original Kazakh dish, Shivit oshi, is a noodle-based dish with a tomato-based sauce, this Swedish adaptation focuses on the creamy and earthy flavors of mushrooms. The Swedish version replaces the tomato sauce with a rich and velvety cream sauce, creating a completely different taste profile. Additionally, the Swedish version incorporates traditional Swedish herbs and spices to enhance the flavors and give it a distinct Swedish touch. We alse have the original recipe for Shivit oshi, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Mushrooms — Make sure to clean the mushrooms thoroughly before slicing them. You can use a damp cloth or paper towel to wipe off any dirt or debris. Avoid washing them under running water as mushrooms tend to absorb water and become soggy.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, you can add a splash of white wine to the mushroom sauce while it simmers.
- If you prefer a lighter version, you can substitute half of the heavy cream with vegetable broth.
- Feel free to experiment with different types of mushrooms to add variety to the dish.
- To make it more filling, you can add some cooked chicken or crispy bacon to the pasta.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated the next day. Add a splash of cream or broth while reheating to maintain the creamy consistency.
