Ingredients
In this adaptation of Slatko from Balkan cuisine to Balochi cuisine, we incorporate the use of saffron, a key ingredient in Balochi cooking. Saffron adds a distinct flavor and vibrant color to the dish, enhancing its appeal and aligning it with the culinary traditions of Balochistan. Additionally, we incorporate a selection of nuts and dried fruits commonly found in Balochi cuisine, giving the dessert a unique Balochi twist. Preparation

1.In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water for 10 minutes.

2.In a large saucepan, heat the ghee over medium heat.

3.Add the chopped nuts and dried fruits to the saucepan and sauté for 2-3 minutes until lightly toasted.

4.Reduce the heat to low and add the sugar, soaked saffron (along with the water), and remaining water to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

5.Simmer the mixture over low heat, stirring occasionally, for approximately 30-40 minutes or until the mixture thickens and reaches a sticky consistency.

6.Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.

7.Transfer the Balochi Sweet Delight to a serving dish and let it cool completely before serving.

8.Garnish with additional chopped nuts and saffron threads, if desired.
