Treat your ingredients with care...
- Spring roll wrappers — Make sure to keep the wrappers covered with a damp cloth while assembling the spring rolls to prevent them from drying out.
- Shredded cabbage and carrots — Squeeze out any excess moisture from the shredded vegetables before mixing them with the other ingredients to prevent the filling from becoming too watery.
- Chopped cooked chicken — You can use leftover cooked chicken or quickly cook some chicken breast and shred it for the filling.
- Soy sauce — Use low-sodium soy sauce if you prefer a less salty taste.
- Oyster sauce — If you have a shellfish allergy, you can substitute oyster sauce with hoisin sauce for a similar flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For extra crispiness, you can double fry the spring rolls. After the initial frying, let them cool for a few minutes, then fry them again until they turn golden brown.
- Serve the spring rolls immediately to enjoy them at their best texture and flavor.
- Experiment with different dipping sauces such as sweet chili sauce, plum sauce, or even ketchup for a fast food twist.
