Ingredients
In this adaptation, we infuse the traditional Japanese Tofuyo with the unique flavors of Pitcairn Islands cuisine. The original dish is typically made with soybeans and fermented for several months, resulting in a strong and pungent flavor. However, in this Pitcairn Islands version, we use tofu as a base and marinate it with local spices to create a milder yet equally delicious taste. Preparation

1.Drain the tofu and pat it dry with a paper towel. Cut the tofu into small cubes.

2.In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, turmeric, paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, and lemon juice.

3.Add the tofu cubes to the bowl and gently toss to coat them with the spice mixture. Let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

4.Heat coconut oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the marinated tofu cubes and cook until golden brown and crispy on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.

5.Remove from heat and garnish with fresh cilantro.
