Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Apples — Choose firm and tart varieties such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp for the best flavor and texture.
  • Pie crust — If desired, you can make your own pie crust from scratch using a simple recipe of flour, butter, and water.
  • Lemon juice — The lemon juice adds a tangy flavor and prevents the apples from browning. If you don't have lemon juice, you can use apple cider vinegar as a substitute.
  • Butter — Make sure the butter is cold and cut it into small pieces to distribute it evenly throughout the filling.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a shortcut, you can use canned apple pie filling instead of making your own.
  • Serve the apple pie warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
  • If you prefer a sweeter filling, you can increase the amount of sugar or add a sprinkle of brown sugar on top of the pies before baking.
  • To save time, you can prepare the apple filling in advance and refrigerate it until ready to use.
  • If you don't have individual pie molds, you can use a muffin tin instead.
