Firstly, we have replaced some of the original ingredients with those commonly used in Belarusian cooking, such as potatoes and cabbage. Additionally, we have incorporated traditional Belarusian spices to enhance the flavor profile of the dish. These changes result in a unique and delicious Belarusian-style Fasting Rice. Preparation

1.Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Drain and set aside.

2.In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, and sauté until translucent.

3.Add the diced carrots, cubed potatoes, and shredded cabbage to the pot. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

4.Stir in the dried dill, dried parsley, and paprika. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5.Add the rinsed rice to the pot and stir well to combine with the vegetables and spices.

6.Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the vegetables are tender.

7.Remove from heat and let the Belarusian-style Fasting Rice sit, covered, for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork.
