1.In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the diced bacon and cook until crispy.

3.Pour in the diced tomatoes, Bavarian beer, and fish or vegetable broth. Stir in the caraway seeds and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

4.Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 20 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

5.Add the fish chunks, shrimp, and mussels to the pot. Cover and cook for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the seafood is cooked through and the mussels have opened.
