Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Eggs — Make sure to beat the eggs well to ensure a fluffy texture in the final dish.
  • Star anise powder — If you can't find star anise powder, you can grind whole star anise in a spice grinder or use Chinese five-spice powder as a substitute.
  • Ginger powder — If you prefer a stronger ginger flavor, you can use freshly grated ginger instead of ginger powder.
  • Garlic powder — If you don't have garlic powder, you can use minced fresh garlic as a substitute.
  • Vegetable oil — Use a neutral-flavored oil with a high smoke point, such as canola or peanut oil, for frying the egg chips.

Tips & Tricks

  • For extra crispiness, make sure the oil is hot enough before pouring the egg mixture into the pan.
