Treat your ingredients with care...
- Lamb or beef — For a tender and flavorful result, choose cuts of meat that are suitable for slow cooking, such as shoulder or stewing cuts.
- Cumin, coriander, and paprika — Toasting the spices in the pot before adding other ingredients helps to enhance their flavors.
- Potatoes and carrots — Cut the vegetables into similar-sized pieces to ensure even cooking.
Tips & Tricks
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, you can mix a tablespoon of flour with a little water and add it to the stew during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
- For an extra burst of flavor, add a squeeze of lemon juice or a dollop of sour cream to each serving.
- Feel free to adjust the spices according to your taste preferences. Add more paprika for a spicier kick or increase the cumin and coriander for a stronger aroma.
Serving advice
Serve the Kazakh Delele in individual bowls, garnished with fresh cilantro. Accompany it with warm Kazakh bread or steamed rice for a complete and satisfying meal.
Presentation advice
To enhance the presentation, sprinkle some additional paprika and cumin on top of the stew before serving. You can also serve it in traditional Kazakh pottery or decorative bowls for an authentic touch.
