1.Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a saucepan, combine the sugar, heavy cream, butter, and corn syrup. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture reaches a temperature of 240°F (115°C) on a candy thermometer.

3.Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, slivered almonds, flour, and salt until well combined.

4.Drop teaspoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie as they will spread during baking.

5.Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are golden brown.
