Treat your ingredients with care...
- French loaf — Choose a fresh and crusty French loaf for the best texture and flavor.
- Steak — Opt for a tender cut of steak, such as sirloin or ribeye, and slice it thinly for quick and even cooking.
- Peri-peri sauce — Adjust the amount of peri-peri sauce according to your spice preference. Add more for an extra kick or reduce it for a milder flavor.
- Chutney — Use a sweet and tangy chutney, such as mango or apricot, to complement the savory flavors of the Gatsby.
Tips & Tricks
- For a vegetarian version, substitute the steak with grilled vegetables or plant-based protein alternatives.
- Experiment with different fillings such as grilled chicken, shrimp, or calamari to create your own unique Gatsby.
- Toast the hollowed-out bread boat in the oven for a few minutes before adding the fillings to enhance its crispiness.
- Serve the Gatsby with extra sauces on the side for dipping or drizzling.
- Customize the Gatsby by adding additional toppings like sliced avocado, fried egg, or cheese.
