Treat your ingredients with care...
- Salmon — Ensure the salmon fillet is fresh and of high quality. Remove any skin and bones before adding it to the laksa.
- Shrimp — Use peeled shrimp for convenience. If using frozen shrimp, thaw them before cooking.
- Rice noodles — Cook the rice noodles just until al dente to maintain their texture in the laksa broth.
- Lemongrass — Bruise the lemongrass stalk before chopping to release its aromatic oils.
- Curry powder — Use a high-quality curry powder for the best flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra Nordic touch, garnish the laksa with thinly sliced radishes or pickled vegetables.
- Adjust the spiciness by adding chili flakes or fresh chili peppers according to your preference.
- Experiment with different types of seafood, such as mussels or white fish, to personalize your Nordic Laksa.
- To make it more filling, add steamed vegetables like broccoli or snow peas to the laksa.
- If you prefer a creamier broth, increase the amount of coconut milk.
