Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Pizza dough — Let the dough rest at room temperature for 30 minutes before rolling it out to make it easier to work with.
  • Gruyere cheese — Shred the cheese yourself for better flavor and texture.
  • French sausage — Use a high-quality sausage, such as saucisson sec, for the best flavor.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a crispier crust, preheat the pizza pan or baking sheet in the oven before placing the dough on it.
  • If you don't have gruyere cheese, you can substitute it with another hard cheese, such as parmesan or cheddar.
  • To make the pizza spicier, add some red pepper flakes to the sauce or sprinkle them over the toppings.

Serving advice

Serve the pizza hot, straight out of the oven, for the best flavor and texture.

Presentation advice

Cut the pizza into slices and arrange them on a large platter or wooden board. Garnish with fresh thyme leaves or chopped parsley for a pop of color.
