Treat your ingredients with care...
- Oranges — Use ripe and juicy oranges for the best flavor.
- Almonds — Toast the sliced almonds in a dry pan over medium heat until golden brown for added crunch.
- Sweet sherry — Choose a good quality sweet sherry for a rich and flavorful syrup.
- Honey — Opt for a mild-flavored honey to complement the other ingredients.
- Egg whites — Make sure the mixing bowl and beaters are completely clean and free of any grease to achieve the best meringue consistency.
Tips & Tricks
- To achieve a crispy exterior and a soft interior, make sure the meringue is baked at a low temperature for a longer period of time.
- Allow the meringue to cool completely in the oven to prevent it from collapsing.
- Caramelize the oranges by placing them in a hot skillet with a sprinkle of sugar until they develop a golden color.
- Customize the toppings by adding a sprinkle of ground cinnamon or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
- Serve the Pavlova immediately after assembling to maintain its crispness.
