Ingredients

The dressing is modified to include Oriya spices and flavors, giving the salad a distinct taste. Additionally, we use locally available vegetables to add a touch of Oriya cuisine to the dish. Preparation

    In a small pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat. Add the mustard seeds and let them splutter.

    Add the turmeric powder and cumin powder to the pan and stir for a few seconds.

    Remove the pan from heat and let the spice mixture cool.

    In a large bowl, combine the sliced figs, cucumber, red onion, tomato, green chili, and coriander leaves.

    In a separate small bowl, whisk together the cooled spice mixture, lemon juice, and salt.

    Pour the dressing over the salad and toss gently to coat all the ingredients.
