Ingredients

In this Galician adaptation of Spaghetti Pie, we incorporate traditional Galician ingredients to infuse the dish with the flavors of the region. Instead of using traditional Italian ingredients like mozzarella and marinara sauce, we opt for Tetilla cheese, a creamy and slightly tangy Galician cheese, and piquillo peppers, which add a unique sweetness and mild heat. Additionally, we include chorizo, a staple in Galician cuisine, to enhance the smoky and savory profile of the dish. We alse have the original recipe for Spaghetti Pie, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Tetilla cheese — If Tetilla cheese is not available, you can substitute it with a mild and creamy cheese such as Monterey Jack or Fontina.
  • Chorizo — For a spicier flavor, use picante chorizo instead of mild chorizo.
  • Piquillo peppers — If piquillo peppers are not accessible, you can substitute them with roasted red bell peppers.

Tips & Tricks

  • To achieve a crispy top, broil the pie for a couple of minutes after baking.
  • Experiment with different fillings such as sautéed mushrooms, spinach, or Galician-style octopus for a unique twist.
  • Serve the pie with a side of mixed greens dressed in a light vinaigrette to add freshness to the meal.
  • Leftovers can be refrigerated and reheated in the oven for a quick and satisfying meal.
  • Adjust the seasoning according to your taste preferences, adding herbs like thyme or paprika for extra flavor.
