Ingredients
In this Cypriot adaptation of the Korean dish Yukjeon, we have incorporated traditional Cypriot flavors and ingredients to create a unique culinary experience. While the original Yukjeon uses Korean spices and ingredients, our Cypriot-style Fried Beef and Vegetable Patties feature a blend of Cypriot spices such as oregano, mint, and cinnamon. Additionally, we have replaced some of the original vegetables with Cypriot favorites like onions, carrots, and bell peppers to enhance the flavor profile. We alse have the original recipe for Yukjeon, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground beef — Choose lean ground beef for a healthier option. Make sure to cook the patties thoroughly to ensure food safety.
- Fresh mint and oregano — If fresh herbs are not available, you can substitute with dried herbs. Use 1 teaspoon of dried mint and oregano instead of fresh.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, serve the patties with a side of tzatziki sauce or a squeeze of lemon juice.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the beef mixture.
- To make the patties more nutritious, you can add finely chopped spinach or kale to the vegetable mixture.
- If you don't have access to ground beef, you can substitute it with ground lamb or chicken for a different flavor profile.
- Leftover patties can be refrigerated and enjoyed the next day. Simply reheat them in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10-15 minutes.
