Treat your ingredients with care...
- Sichuan peppercorns — Toast the peppercorns in a dry pan over low heat for a few minutes before crushing them. This will enhance their aroma and flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra kick of heat, add more chili flakes or even some Sichuan chili bean paste to the beef mixture.
- Soaking the bamboo skewers in water prevents them from burning during grilling.
- Serve the skewers with a side of Sichuan-style dipping sauce made with soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and chili oil.
- If you don't have a grill, you can also cook the skewers in a hot skillet or under the broiler in your oven.
- Feel free to customize the level of spiciness by adjusting the amount of chili flakes and Sichuan peppercorns.
Serving advice
Serve the Sichuan-style spicy beef skewers hot, alongside a bowl of steamed rice or with a side of stir-fried vegetables. Garnish with chopped green onions and cilantro for added freshness.
Presentation advice
Arrange the skewers on a platter, placing them diagonally for an appealing visual effect. Drizzle some chili oil over the skewers for an extra touch of spiciness. Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for added texture and visual appeal.
