Preparation

  1. 1.
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, onion, garlic, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, parsley, cumin, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  2. 2.
Take a dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of the meat mixture in the center. Fold the wrapper in half and seal the edges by pressing them together. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.
  3. 3.
Heat a drizzle of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the dumplings in a single layer and cook until golden brown on the bottom, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. 4.
Carefully flip the dumplings and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until golden brown on the other side.
  5. 5.
Remove the dumplings from the skillet and drain on a paper towel to remove any excess oil.
  6. 6.
Serve the Argentinian-style Dim Sum hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Ground beef and pork — Make sure to use lean ground meat for a healthier option. If desired, you can also substitute with ground chicken or turkey.
  • Dumpling wrappers — Look for round dumpling wrappers in the international section of your local grocery store. If unavailable, you can make your own wrappers using a mixture of all-purpose flour and water.

Tips & Tricks

  • To add an extra kick of flavor, serve the Argentinian-style Dim Sum with chimichurri sauce, a traditional Argentinian condiment made with parsley, garlic, vinegar, and olive oil.
  • If you prefer a healthier option, you can steam the dumplings instead of frying them. Simply place them in a steamer basket lined with parchment paper and steam for about 10-12 minutes until cooked through.
  • Experiment with different fillings by adding ingredients like chopped olives, raisins, or even a touch of spicy chimichurri sauce to the meat mixture.
