Ingredients
In this Eurasian adaptation of the Fluffernutter, we incorporate the flavors and ingredients commonly found in Singaporean and Malaysian cuisine. The original recipe is transformed by using local bread varieties such as roti canai or kaya toast, which add a unique texture and flavor to the sandwich. Additionally, we infuse the peanut butter with a hint of pandan essence, a popular ingredient in Eurasian desserts, to give it a fragrant twist. - Pandan essence — Pandan essence adds a fragrant twist to the peanut butter. If you can't find it, you can omit it or substitute with vanilla extract for a milder flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra indulgent treat, you can add a drizzle of chocolate sauce or sprinkle crushed peanuts on top of the peanut butter layer.
- If you prefer a warm and gooey sandwich, you can heat the assembled sandwich in a panini press or grill until the marshmallow cream melts slightly.
