Treat your ingredients with care...
- Achiote paste — Achiote paste can be found in Latin American grocery stores or online. If unavailable, you can make a substitute by combining equal parts paprika, oregano, cumin, and garlic powder.
- Annatto seeds — If you can't find annatto seeds, you can use annatto powder as a substitute. Use half the amount of powder compared to the seeds.
Tips & Tricks
- For extra tenderness, you can marinate the beef overnight.
- Soaking the wooden skewers in water prevents them from burning on the grill.
- Serve the skewers with a squeeze of fresh lime juice for an added burst of flavor.
- If you prefer spicier skewers, increase the amount of Honduran hot sauce in the marinade.
- Feel free to customize the marinade by adding your favorite Honduran spices or herbs.
