The original dish typically uses soy sauce and sesame oil for marinating the meat, while our Niuean version incorporates coconut milk and lime juice for a tropical twist. 1.In a bowl, whisk together the coconut milk, lime juice, soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, coriander, turmeric, salt, and pepper.

2.Place the tuna steaks in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Make sure the steaks are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
