Ingredients
In this Mexican-American adaptation of Haft Mewa, we replace the traditional dried fruits with a variety of fresh tropical fruits commonly found in Mexican-American cuisine. The dressing is also modified to incorporate lime and chili flavors, adding a Mexican twist to the dish. Additionally, we use a mix of toasted almonds, pistachios, and walnuts instead of the traditional nuts used in Haft Mewa. We alse have the original recipe for Haft mewa, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Mango — Choose a ripe mango for the best flavor and texture. Look for a mango that gives slightly when gently squeezed.
- Pineapple — Use fresh pineapple for the juiciest and most vibrant flavor. If fresh pineapple is not available, you can use canned pineapple chunks, drained.
- Papaya — Select a ripe papaya that is slightly soft to the touch. The flesh should be orange and fragrant.
- Watermelon — Choose a ripe and sweet watermelon. Look for a watermelon with a firm rind and a deep, hollow sound when tapped.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle some Tajin seasoning over the salad before serving.
- Feel free to customize the salad by adding other fruits such as kiwi, strawberries, or oranges.
- If you prefer a spicier salad, increase the amount of chili powder or add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- To make the salad more filling, you can add a handful of cooked quinoa or black beans.
- Serve the salad chilled for a refreshing summer treat.
