Preparation

1.In a large bowl, combine the dried apricots, raisins, figs, and dates. Pour the rosewater over the dried fruits and let them soak for 1 hour.

2.In a separate bowl, combine the pistachios, almonds, and walnuts. Set aside.

3.In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil. Add the sugar, cardamom, and saffron threads. Stir until the sugar has dissolved.

4.Reduce the heat to low and add the soaked dried fruits along with any remaining rosewater. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

5.Add the mixed nuts to the saucepan and continue to simmer for another 10 minutes, until the mixture thickens slightly.
