Preparation

1.In a small bowl, soak the saffron threads in 2 tablespoons of warm water for 10 minutes.

2.In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, instant yeast, ground cardamom, ground cinnamon, ground coriander, ground cumin, and salt.

3.Add the saffron water, vegetable oil, and warm water to the dry ingredients. Mix well until a soft dough forms.

4.Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

5.Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

6.Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7.Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles, then divide it into small portions.

8.Roll each portion into a rope shape, about 20cm (8 inches) long, and join the ends to form a ring.

9.Place the rings on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between them.
