Treat your ingredients with care...
- Beef — For tender and flavorful beef, choose a cut that is suitable for stir-frying, such as sirloin or flank steak. Slice the beef thinly against the grain to ensure tenderness.
- Guizhou chili bean paste — This ingredient adds a unique and spicy flavor to the dish. Adjust the amount according to your spice preference.
- Kaffir lime leaves — These aromatic leaves are commonly used in Thai and Guizhou cuisines. They add a citrusy and refreshing flavor to the curry. If you can't find fresh kaffir lime leaves, you can use dried ones, but reduce the quantity to 1 leaf.
Tips & Tricks
- To make the dish spicier, add more Guizhou chili bean paste or increase the amount of red chili peppers.
- For a milder version, reduce the amount of chili peppers or omit them altogether.
- Adjust the cooking time according to the desired tenderness of the beef. Simmer for a shorter time for medium-rare beef or longer for well-done beef.
- Serve the Guizhou-style Spicy Beef Curry with steamed rice or noodles to soak up the flavorful sauce.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated for a quick and delicious meal.
