Ingredients

In this adaptation, we have transformed the traditional Norwegian Pizza Vulkanen into a Jiangsu-style Spicy Seafood Pizza. While the original dish features a hearty combination of cured meats and vegetables, our version focuses on the bold flavors of Jiangsu cuisine. We have replaced the cured meats with a variety of fresh seafood, such as shrimp, scallops, and squid, and infused them with the vibrant spices and seasonings commonly found in Jiangsu dishes. The result is a fusion of Norwegian and Jiangsu cuisines, creating a unique and exciting pizza experience. We alse have the original recipe for Pizza Vulkanen, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Seafood — Make sure to properly clean and devein the shrimp before using. Pat the seafood dry before marinating to ensure maximum flavor absorption.

Tips & Tricks

  • For an extra kick of heat, add more sliced red chilies or sprinkle some chili flakes on top before baking.
  • Experiment with different seafood combinations, such as adding mussels or crab meat.
  • If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce the amount of ginger and chilies.
  • Serve with a side of soy sauce mixed with a splash of rice vinegar for dipping.
  • If you don't have a pizza crust, you can use a flatbread or naan bread as a base.

Serving advice

Presentation advice

To enhance the presentation, sprinkle some additional sliced green onions and cilantro on top of the pizza before serving. The vibrant green colors will add a pop of freshness to the dish.
