Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Zucchinis — Make sure to choose firm zucchinis without any soft spots. If the zucchinis are large, remove the seeds before dicing.
  • Tomatoes — Opt for ripe and juicy tomatoes for the best flavor. If desired, you can blanch and peel the tomatoes before dicing.

Tips & Tricks

  • For a smoky flavor, you can grill the zucchinis before dicing them.
  • Add a pinch of red pepper flakes if you prefer a spicier version of the dish.
  • Serve the Croatian-style Şakşuka with a dollop of Greek yogurt or feta cheese for added creaminess.
  • This dish tastes even better the next day, so feel free to make it ahead of time and reheat when needed.
  • Experiment with different herbs such as thyme or rosemary to personalize the flavors.
