Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground beef — Choose lean ground beef for a healthier option. If desired, you can also use a combination of ground beef and ground pork for added flavor.
- Malawian spices — If you can't find specific Malawian spices, you can create a blend using equal parts of ground coriander, cumin, paprika, cinnamon, and ginger. Adjust the amount of cayenne pepper according to your spice preference.
Tips & Tricks
- For a spicier version, increase the amount of cayenne pepper or add chopped chili peppers to the sauce.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, simmer the dish uncovered for the last 10 minutes to allow the sauce to reduce.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheated for a quick and delicious meal.
Serving advice
Serve the Malawian-style Sinjski Arambaši hot, accompanied by nsima, a traditional Malawian cornmeal porridge. The combination of the flavorful meat rolls and the comforting nsima creates a satisfying and authentic Malawian dining experience.
Presentation advice
