Ingredients

In this Liaoning-style adaptation of Arsumà, we incorporate traditional Chinese ingredients and flavors to create a fusion dish that pays homage to both Italian and Liaoning cuisines. The original Italian Arsumà typically features a filling of minced meat, cheese, and herbs, while our Liaoning-style version incorporates minced pork, Chinese cabbage, ginger, garlic, and soy sauce for a distinctly Chinese twist. We alse have the original recipe for Arsumà, so you can check it out.

  6. 6.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Chinese cabbage — Make sure to finely chop the Chinese cabbage to ensure a consistent texture in the filling.
  • Ginger — Grate the ginger using a fine grater to extract its aromatic flavors effectively.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of Sichuan peppercorns to the filling mixture.
  • Serve the dumplings with a side of black vinegar for dipping.
  • For a vegetarian version, substitute the minced pork with minced tofu or mushrooms.
  • Experiment with different fillings such as shrimp or beef for a variety of flavors.
  • To save time, you can use store-bought dumpling wrappers instead of making the dough from scratch.
