Ingredients
While the original British Bangers and Mash is traditionally made with pork sausages and served with a rich onion gravy, our Cuban adaptation infuses the dish with the vibrant flavors of the Caribbean. We use spicy chorizo sausages and add a touch of heat with chili peppers. The mashed potatoes are enhanced with garlic and cilantro, giving them a Cuban flair. Preparation

1.Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

2.Place the chorizo sausages on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes, or until cooked through.

3.In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the potatoes and cook until tender, about 15 minutes.

4.Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the minced garlic, milk, butter, and cilantro. Mash until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5.In a separate pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, bell peppers, and chili peppers. Sauté until the vegetables are softened and slightly caramelized.

6.Serve the mashed potatoes topped with the sautéed vegetables and chorizo sausages.
