Ingredients
While the original Bosnian Ćevapi is typically made with a combination of beef, lamb, and pork, our Brazilian adaptation focuses on using beef as the primary meat. Additionally, we infuse the meat with traditional Brazilian spices and herbs, giving it a unique and exciting flavor profile. The cooking method also differs, as we grill the skewers to perfection, adding a smoky char that enhances the overall taste. We alse have the original recipe for Ćevapi, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground beef — Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. If you prefer a juicier texture, opt for ground beef with a slightly higher fat content.
- Fresh parsley and cilantro — Make sure to finely chop the herbs to evenly distribute their flavors throughout the meat mixture.
- Bamboo skewers — Soaking the skewers in water before grilling prevents them from burning during cooking.
Tips & Tricks
- For an extra burst of flavor, marinate the meat mixture in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours before shaping and grilling.
- Serve the Brazilian-style Ćevapi with traditional Brazilian side dishes like farofa (toasted cassava flour), vinagrete (Brazilian salsa), and pão de queijo (cheese bread).
- If you don't have a grill, you can also cook the skewers on a stovetop grill pan or in the oven under the broiler.
Serving advice
Serve the sizzling Brazilian-style Ćevapi hot off the grill, accompanied by a generous portion of farofa, vinagrete, and pão de queijo. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime for an extra zing. These skewers are perfect for sharing with friends and family at a festive Brazilian-style barbecue.
Presentation advice
Arrange the skewers on a large platter, allowing the smoky aroma to entice your guests. Serve with the traditional Brazilian side dishes in separate bowls, creating a colorful and inviting spread. Add a touch of greenery with fresh cilantro sprigs for an appealing presentation.
