Ingredients
While the original Bosnian Ćevapi is typically made with a combination of beef, lamb, and pork, this Mexican adaptation focuses solely on beef. The seasoning blend is also different, incorporating Mexican spices like chili powder, cumin, and paprika. Additionally, instead of serving the Ćevapi with traditional Bosnian accompaniments, we pair them with a zesty salsa and suggest Mexican-inspired side dishes and drinks. We alse have the original recipe for Ćevapi, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...
- Ground beef — Use lean ground beef for a healthier option. If you prefer a juicier texture, opt for ground beef with a slightly higher fat content.
- Fresh cilantro — If you're not a fan of cilantro, you can substitute it with fresh parsley for a milder flavor.
Tips & Tricks
- Soak the skewers in water before grilling to prevent them from burning.
- Serve the Mexican-style Ćevapi with warm tortillas and a variety of toppings like guacamole, sour cream, and shredded cheese for a complete meal.
- If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the seasoning blend.
- These Ćevapi can also be cooked on a stovetop grill pan or baked in the oven if you don't have access to a grill.
