1.In a saucepan, combine the milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is hot but not boiling.

2.Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the licorice syrup, vanilla extract, and salt. Mix well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.

3.Allow the mixture to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.
