Treat your ingredients with care...
- Sweet potatoes — Choose sweet potatoes that are firm and have a vibrant orange color. Boil or steam them until they are soft and easily mashed.
- Ground spices — For the best flavor, use freshly ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. If using pre-ground spices, make sure they are not expired for optimal taste.
Tips & Tricks
- To achieve a fluffy texture, avoid overmixing the dough.
- Adjust the sweetness of the syrup coating according to your preference by adding more or less sugar.
- For an extra burst of flavor, sprinkle some ground cinnamon or powdered sugar on top of the donuts before serving.
- Serve the donuts warm for the best taste and texture.
- If you prefer a healthier option, you can bake the donuts instead of frying them. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
