Ingredients

In this Macedonian adaptation of Lobster Newburg, we incorporate traditional Macedonian spices and herbs to infuse the dish with the flavors of the region. The original American dish is known for its creamy sauce made with sherry, but in this Macedonian version, we replace the sherry with Macedonian yogurt to add a unique tanginess. Additionally, we use Macedonian spices such as paprika and dill to enhance the flavors of the lobster. We alse have the original recipe for Lobster Newburg, so you can check it out.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Lobster — Make sure to cook the lobsters just until they turn bright red to avoid overcooking and toughening the meat.
  • Macedonian yogurt — Use full-fat Macedonian yogurt for a creamy and tangy flavor. If unavailable, Greek yogurt can be used as a substitute.
  • Paprika — Opt for sweet or smoked paprika, depending on your preference and the level of smokiness desired.
  • Fresh dill — If fresh dill is not available, dried dill can be used as a substitute, but use half the amount.
