Preparation

  1. 1.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Gently place the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for about 10 minutes or until they float to the surface.
  6. 6.
In a separate pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the breadcrumbs and sugar, and cook until golden brown.
  7. 7.

  8. 8.
Serve the Cornish Apricot Dumplings dusted with powdered sugar.

Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Potatoes — Make sure to thoroughly boil the potatoes until they are soft and easily mashable. This will ensure a smooth dough texture.
  • Apricots — Choose ripe apricots that are slightly firm to the touch. Avoid overly ripe ones, as they may become too mushy during cooking.

Tips & Tricks

  • To enhance the flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the dough mixture.
  • If you prefer a sweeter taste, sprinkle some additional sugar over the dumplings before serving.
  • Serve the Cornish Apricot Dumplings warm for the best taste and texture.
  • If fresh apricots are not available, you can use canned apricots as a substitute.
  • Leftover dumplings can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated gently in the microwave or steamed before serving.
