Ingredients
In this Samoan adaptation of tostadas, we incorporate the vibrant flavors of Samoa by using tropical ingredients such as pineapple and lime in the salsa. The traditional Mexican toppings are replaced with a fresh and tangy pineapple salsa, adding a unique twist to the dish. Additionally, the tortillas can be made using taro root flour, a staple in Samoan cuisine, to give them an authentic Samoan touch. - Taro root flour tortillas — If using taro root flour, adjust the amount of liquid in the tortilla dough as taro root flour tends to absorb more moisture than regular flour.
Tips & Tricks

- If you prefer a spicier salsa, add some finely chopped chili peppers to the pineapple salsa.
- Experiment with different toppings such as diced avocado or shredded coconut for additional Samoan flavors.
