Preparation

  1. 1.
Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. 2.
In a mixing bowl, combine the diced mangoes, pineapple chunks, sliced bananas, coconut milk, sugar, and ground cinnamon. Mix well to ensure all the fruits are coated in the mixture.
  3. 3.
Lay one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush it lightly with vegetable oil. Place another sheet on top and repeat the process until you have a stack of 5 sheets.
  4. 4.
Cut the phyllo pastry stack into squares or rectangles, depending on your preference.
  5. 5.
Spoon a generous amount of the fruit filling onto each pastry square, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. 6.
Fold the edges of the pastry over the filling to create a neat parcel.
  7. 7.
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Carefully place the filled pastry parcels into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on both sides.
  8. 8.
Once fried, transfer the Warbat to a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to ensure the filling is heated through.
  9. 9.
Remove from the oven and let the Warbat cool slightly before serving.

Treat your ingredients with care...
