Treat your ingredients with care...
- Pork — Ensure the ground pork is fresh and lean for the best texture and flavor.
- Shrimp — Use fresh or frozen shrimp that has been properly thawed. Remove the tails and devein before using.
- Soy sauce — Opt for low-sodium soy sauce if you prefer to reduce the overall sodium content.
- Sesame oil — Choose a high-quality sesame oil for a more pronounced flavor.
- Garlic — Mince the garlic finely to evenly distribute its flavor throughout the filling.
Tips & Tricks
- To achieve a crispy texture, pan-fry the dumplings in a non-stick pan with a small amount of oil.
- Serve the Dim Sum à la Française with a variety of dipping sauces such as soy sauce, sweet chili sauce, or a tangy vinaigrette.
- Experiment with different fillings by adding vegetables like mushrooms, cabbage, or water chestnuts for extra flavor and texture.
- If you prefer a healthier option, you can bake the dumplings in the oven at 200°C (400°F) for approximately 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Make a large batch of dumplings and freeze them for later. Simply place the uncooked dumplings on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and freeze until firm. Once frozen, transfer them to a freezer bag for long-term storage.
