While the original Italian Florentines are traditionally made with pine nuts and dried fruits, our Hungarian adaptation replaces the pine nuts with almonds, adding a delightful crunch. Preparation

1.Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2.In a saucepan, combine the sugar, honey, cream, and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil.

3.Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the lemon juice, orange zest, flour, salt, and sliced almonds. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.

4.Drop spoonfuls of the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each spoonful for spreading.

5.Flatten each spoonful of mixture with the back of a spoon to create thin, round Florentines.
