Ingredients

In this Indo-style Gyros recipe, we incorporate Indian spices and flavors to give the dish a distinct Indo twist. The traditional Greek seasonings are replaced with a blend of spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. Additionally, we use yogurt marinated chicken or lamb instead of the traditional pork or beef, adding a touch of Indian culinary influence to the dish. Treat your ingredients with care...

  • Chicken or lamb — For best results, choose boneless and skinless chicken thighs or lamb leg meat. Thinly slice the meat to ensure even cooking and maximum flavor absorption during marination.

Tips & Tricks

  • If you prefer a spicier gyro, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or red chili flakes to the marinade.
  • To enhance the Indo flavors, you can add a teaspoon of grated ginger to the marinade.
  • For a smoky touch, grill the pita breads for a few seconds on each side before assembling the gyros.
  • If you don't have access to a grill, you can cook the marinated meat in a skillet over medium-high heat until cooked through.
